THE MAKERBARN

SINCE 2016

The MakerBarn began as a dream and a desire to share the “making” spirit with others. Our humble beginnings started with an old barn, a small team of dedicated volunteers, and a lot of sweat-equity working through a hot, Texas summer.

It took over a year of planning, clean-out, and construction to make the MakerBarn a reality. “If you build it, they will come.” In June 2016, The MakerBarn opened, people came, they saw the value, and membership started to grow.

We are a 501c3 organization with approximately 210 members. Our makerspace is run completely by our volunteer members. We learn from each other and enjoy sharing our knowledge with others.
